If you want to change the color you have to edit or create new image files for "expose-window-selection-big.png" and "expose-window-selection-small.png". If you just want to restore the originals then do the "mv" commands in the opposite direction, which will put the originals back where they were.

I did the first 4 steps, but now I want to add some other color instead. How do I get the rings back but in a different color? Please help!

Nice find on the replacement images. A definite improvement. Sorry for opening your eyes to the blue ugliness, but if I hadn't done it you would have noticed sooner or later! :)
